Kelana Jaya LRT disruption: Prasarana deploys nearly seven dozen buses to ferry stranded commuters

PETALING JAYA: Free bridging bus services are being deployed at major LRT stations along the Kelana Jaya line to help ease the commute for those affected by the week-long shutdown of a critical stretch from Nov 9 to 15.

These buses will be deployed at the Ara Damansara (non-stop service to Pasar Seni), Pasar Seni (non-stop to Ara Damansara, as well another one to Masjid Jamek), Kelana Jaya (stopping at every station until Pasar Seni), and Masjid Jamek (stopping at every station on the way to Dato Keramat) as 16 stations starting from Ampang Park to Lembah Subang are taken out of service to determine the cause of signalling instability that has been plaguing the line since last Saturday (Nov 5).

In a press conference at Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd headquarters here Wednesday (Nov 9) morning, Prasarana Malaysia CEO Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah said further bridging bus services will be added as and when needed.

While Kelana Jaya line services are still operating between the Putra Heights and Lembah Subang, as well as from Damai to Gombak, these services will end at 11pm daily during the shutdown period.

"We are trying to find out the root cause behind this matter, and are working round-the-clock to resolve it. We truly apologise for this," he said.

Details about the bridging bus services and other alternatives can be found at myrapid.com.my or its social media channels.
